Summer Holidays at Green island

This summer at Green Island Gardens, we are pleased to be bringing lots of fun filled activities to the gardens! From sensory plant trail to teddy bear tea parties, Green Island is the place to be for children this summer. Below, you can see our schedule of activities running for the month of August. Week One- August 2nd to 4th. Make Your Own Mini Garden Classes.

Starting off our summer holiday month with our very own mini garden courses. In these classes, you will be taught how to create a mini garden that will flourish and thrive in your home or outside. From designing, to planting, to decorating, this is a great opportunity to get your hands dirty, and learn a little more about how a garden grows. You'll then be able to take your garden home, and watch it grow all through the summer!

Sessions start at 10am and are £10 per child (including garden entry for the child, but not for any accompanying adults). These sessions will last between 45 minutes to 1 hour long, depending on class sizes. Please book by emailing info@greenislandgardens.co.uk.

Week Two- August 8th to 13th. Plant Trail- Discover the Weird and Wonderful Plants of Green Island

In week two we have our brilliant plant trail taking part in the gardens! Our plants are the pride and joy of the gardens, and we love being able to educate all our visitors about the weird and wonderful secrets they hide. Through looking, touching, and smelling, the trail leads you on a sensory journey through the gardens. Trail included in normal garden entry price. Entry prices; Adult £9, Child £2.50. No pre-booking required.

Week Three- August 15th to 18th. Teddy Bears Picnic.

The Teddy Bears take over the gardens! Come meet the bears of Green Island hiding in dens in the woodland and picnicking in the secret garden! Bring along your own furry friend and enjoy a day of bear filled fun. Picnics are not included in price of entry, but food is available to purchase in our tearoom. Event included in normal garden entry price. Entry prices; Adult £9, Child £2.50. No pre-booking required.

Week Four- August 22nd to 27th. Bug Hunt.

We are bringing back our popular bug hunt! Come to Green Island Gardens to discover all the creepy crawlies that take up home here. Explore the gardens discovering all of their habitats, and seeing if you can spot the critters for yourself. Hunt included in normal garden entry price. Entry prices; Adult £9, Child £2.50. No pre-booking required.
